Sugpon Medical Mission

Medical, Dental and Minor Surgical Mission, November 14, 2009

     The Jerry C. Singson Foundation Inc. through its Joint Community Services Medical Mission Team headed by its Chairman and CEO Vice Governor Jerry C. Singson conducted on November 14, 2009 a medical, dental and minor surgical mission at the upland municipality of Sugpon, Ilocos Sur.

     The team had an enjoyable riverside breakfast courtesy of the Vice Governor complemented by mayor Guillermo Amoyen’s native delicacies with coffee and mineral water.

     Joining this humanitarian service is the J.P. Sioson General Hospital and Colleges with three clinical instructors and 22 nurses headed by the energetic Vigan-born sisters Mercy Corpuz-del Rosario and Ms. Aura Corpuz. Also with the team are five Dentists and two Dental Aides from the Sta. Lucia District Hospital (SLDH) and Tagudin General Hospital and Capillariasis Center.

    The medical doctors were: Dr. Boying Degracia of the Sinait District Hospital; Dr. Jovito Ellorin of SLDH; Dr. Digna Ocampo of the Sugpon MHO; and Dr. Eric Lazo of Gabriela Silang General Hospital. They were reinforced by volunteer nurses and nursing aides. A total of 384 patients benefited from this mission of whom 224 were provided free reading glasses.
